Company history for the year 1977

March
The Band wins all three Bugle Band competitions.


Saturday 19th March
The Jubilee BB Display takes place.


Saturday 2nd April
The Company wins the London District Two Section Drill competition.


Saturday 16th April
The Company takes part in a sponsored walk at the Arnold House Cheshire home for the disabled.


Friday 13th May to Saturday 14th May
The Royal Albert Hall Display: The Company provides the First Aid team on the Friday night.


Saturday 28th May
Enfield Battalion holds an "It's a Boys' Brigade Jubilee Knockout" (based on the popular 1970s TV show "It's a Knockout" in Enfield Town Park. This is the Enfield Battalion contribution to the BB celebrations for the Queen's Silver Jubilee.


June
"Youth Empire and Society", a book by Dr John Springhall including a look at the history of the 3rd Enfield, is published.


June
A message is sent from The Boys' Brigade to The Queen on Her Majesty's Silver Jubilee.


Sunday 25th September
The biggest youth parade in the world - 4000 young men and women parade along the mall to Buckingham Palace in the rain. The 3rd Enfield Bugle Band takes part in the event.

Combined Bugle Band of the 1st and 3rd Enfield Companies.

The above picture shows Lord Elgin, Brigade President (on the far right) next to Peter Williams of the 1st Enfield. The closest boy is Pte Dominic Beech, and next to him is Pte Andrew Cromar, both of the 3rd Enfield.

Christmas at the 3rd

Following the November lockdown we were able to meet face-to-face once again on Monday 7th December, which was also our final meeting of 2020.

Despite the unusual circumstances, we were able to get involved in Remembrance activities to commemorate those who gave their lives in conflict.
