Company history for the year 1988 - Centenary of The Boys' Brigade in Enfield and the formation of the 1st Enfield
During 1988
March
Enfield Battalion wins the London District Football Shield.
Saturday 12th March
The first Wembley London District Display takes place. The Company provides the Colour Party.
Friday 15th April
The Company achieves a drill double. It wins the Three Section Drill competition and thus the Daily Telegraph Shield with the 1st Enfield for the fourth year in succession, and then goes on to win the Two Section Drill Cup for the tenth time.
Saturday 30th April
The Centenary Display of the 1st Enfield takes place.
Saturday 7th May
The Company Display. Andrew Barnes retires as Bandmaster after 10 years in the post.

Saturday 21st May
The Enfield Battalion Centenary Display: The Company gives a display of old time drill. The 3rd is involved in the old boys band, the Battalion Bugle Band and the Battalion Colours. The Brigade Secretary is the Guest of Honour.

June
Mark Willis becomes London District Discus champion. Tim Wakeford becomes London District Javelin champion.
July
Summer Camp takes place in St Austell, Cornwall.
Saturday 16th July
The Company wins the final of the London District 6-a-side Cricket.
August
The Company makes it a double by winning the 11-a-side Cricket.
August
Terry Silvey retires as Captain of the Company, after 10 years of holding the post so successfully.
Saturday 1st October to Sunday 13th November
The Enfield BB Centenary Exhibition at Forty Hall: The event is a great success with a large number of people visiting the exhibition.
Display of the local Enfield BB trophies.
Display of the London District trophies won by the Enfield Companies in 1988, including the Daily Telegraph Shield, Two Section Drill trophy, football trophy, and two cricket trophies!

Following the November lockdown we were able to meet face-to-face once again on Monday 7th December, which was also our final meeting of 2020.
