Company history for the year 1918

Enfield Air Raid Buglers: The Boys' Brigade sounds the all clear on air raid nights by the Germans. Dr R L Ridge fights in the District Council for the Brigade to have a football and cricket pitch in Foy's Field.

Monday 1st April
The 3rd Enfield is shown in the BB Gazette, as part of the Bugle Team with the 1st Enfield who formed the air raid buglers sounding the all-clear from the Zeppelins during World War I. In the centre is Staff Sergeant Tom Whitmell.

The Company Display is held at the British Hall, Chase Side. The Inspecting Officer is Major P W Leggatt.

The 3rd Enfield comes second to the 83rd London by 11 1/2 points in the final of the Daily Telegraph Shield competition.

Monday 20th May
The Whit Monday Inspection and Display at the Town Park takes place, with Lieutenant T R Plowman as the Inspecting Officer, after recovering from his injuries the previous winter in France. 700 old boys of the Battalion are on active service at that time, of which 75 had fallen.

Wednesday 18th December
Mr T R Plowman takes over the Captaincy of the 3rd Enfield again.

Following the November lockdown we were able to meet face-to-face once again on Monday 7th December, which was also our final meeting of 2020.

Despite the unusual circumstances, we were able to get involved in Remembrance activities to commemorate those who gave their lives in conflict.
