Company history for the year 1991

During 1991
The 3rd Enfield completes a clean sweep at the Battalion Band competitions, winning the Band, Bugle Team, Drum Team, Solo Drummer (David Waite) and Solo Bugler (Stuart Bachelor) competitions.

Sunday 13th January
The BBC programme Songs of Praise comes from the Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, and features the London District Boys' Brigade Church Parade.

The Enfield Battalion/North London Zone Cross Country competition is held in heavy snow. The Seniors team wins its section, with Stuart Bachelor and Daniel Layzell coming first and second in the race.

Saturday 9th February
The Company wins the Battalion First Aid competition, while James Knott is one half of the winners of the pairs competition.

Saturday 23rd February
The London District Bugle Band competitions take place, where the Company comes second in the Junior Band competition. The Drum Team wins its competition with the team of David Waite, Simeon Layzell, Jamie Fryer and David Spence. The team is coached by Michael Over and Mark Pollard.

The Company Section retains the Battalion/Zone Squad Drill title, and also wins the Two Section Drill title in the competitions at Albany School.

In the Battalion Gymnastics competition, the Company wins the Parallel Bars team competition but loses the overall title by 0.3 points. Individual titles won by the 3rd include the Best Senior (Simeon Layzell), Senior Vaulting (Simeon Layzell), Senior Parallel Bars (Jamie Fryer), Junior Parallel Bars (Daniel Layzell) and Junior Vaulting (Paul Brewer).

The 3rd Enfield wins the Enfield Battalion Team Games competition.

The Company wins the Battalion First Aid competition with the team of Stuart Bachelor, Simeon Layzell, Jamie Fryer and Stephen Stokes.

The 3rd Enfield beats the 2nd Enfield 4-2 to win the Enfield Battalion Football Cup.

Saturday 16th March
The London District Display is held at Wembley Conference Centre.

The Company wins the London District First Aid competition with the team of Stuart Bachelor, Simeon Layzell, Jamie Fryer and Stephen Stokes.

Enfield Battalion wins the London District Football Trophy, with a 5-0 over the Kingston & Merton Battalion.

Saturday 20th April
The 101st Company Display is held at Chace Community School.

The Company comes second in the Battalion Athletics competition.

Stuart Bachelor wins the 1500 metres and Tim Wakeford wins the Javelin competition in the London District Athletics competition.

The 3rd Enfield reaches the semi-final of the London District 11-a-side Cricket competition, and is runner up in the 6-a-side competition.

The annual Summer Camp is held at Studland Bay in Dorset, and the weather is excellent.

Sunday 11th August
3rd Enfield Officer Chris Sanders marries Natalie Abbey at Christ Church.

The Band parades to Enfield Town as part of Christ Church for an open air service.

The Company delivers leaflets for the Church Spire fund and the Royal British Legion open day.

The Company Band leads the 70th anniversary parade for the Royal British Legion.

Following the November lockdown we were able to meet face-to-face once again on Monday 7th December, which was also our final meeting of 2020.
