Company history for the year 2009

Friday 27th February
Andrew Clarke represents the 3rd Enfield in the London District Solo Drum competition and comes out victorious, becoming the first 3rd Enfield winner of the competition in 20 years. The Solo Bugle and Solo Bell Lyre competitions are won by the 1st Slough and 1st Barnet respectively.

Saturday 14th March
London District's Band competitions take place at the headquarters of the 1st Enfield Company. The combined Bugle Band of the 1st and 3rd Enfield wins the Don West Trophy for Musical Accuracy, and comes second to the 3rd Bromley in the Devonshire Cup.

Sunday 15th March
The annual Enfield Battalion Church Parade takes place at Hoddesdon Methodist Church, home of the 1st Hoddesdon Company. Members from the majority of Companies in the Battalion attend, including the 3rd Enfield.

Saturday 28th March
The 3rd Enfield re-enters the London District drill arena for the first time in several years, coming third in the Single Line Drill competition and second in both the 3 and 5 Man Colours competitions.

Monday 27th April
The annual Company Display and Presentation Evening takes place at the Church Hall. A number of items are put on by all sections along with presentations of various awards. Jamie Newport becomes the first member of the 3rd Enfield to be awarded the President's Badge in nearly five years.

Friday 22nd May to Monday 25th May
Jamie Newport and Tom Boorman take part in the annual Firm Foundations festival at BB Headquarters at Felden Lodge. Over 900 people attend the weekend which features a number of worship bands, speakers and many other activities.

Saturday 6th June
The team of Jamie Newport and Owen Newport represent the 3rd Enfield and take part in the Enfield Battalion/North London Zone Athletics competition, coming fifth in the former's contest and seventh in the latter. The team also wins the Enfield Battalion Small Companies Athletics Cup.

Friday 12th June to Sunday 14th June
Members of the 3rd Enfield take part in the Enfield Battalion Junior Section Weekend Camp for the first time in a number of years. Around 35 boys from most Companies in the Battalion take part in the event at Gilwell Park.

Sunday 14th June
The London Massed Bugle Band performs at the Volunteer Police Cadet Parade in London, featuring representation from the 3rd Enfield. The parade includes a march down The Mall and a number of static performances on Horse Guards Parade.

Saturday 27th June
London District's annual Beating Retreat ceremony takes place at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. The 3rd Enfield once again participates in items such as the London Massed Bugle Band, including the bugle team performing Sunset Retreat, as well as performing General Salute and a special fanfare in a joint routine with the 1st Enfield.

Saturday 25th July to Saturday 1st August
The Company enjoys its annual Summer Camp with the 10th Enfield BB and 1st Winchmore Hill GB at Beeston Regis, Norfolk. The group of 13 boys and 4 girls takes part in a number of activities including go-karting, high ropes, water games, an assault course, beach trips and much more.

Saturday 5th September to Sunday 6th September
Enfield Battalion has a display stand at the annual Town Show. The weekend opens with a parade through the Town Centre, which features a performance by the Battalion Band, including the 3rd Enfield. At the Show itself, a display stand allows people to look at some of the activities provided by the Battalion, as well as encouraging potential new members to join their nearest Company.

Sunday 4th October
The annual Enrolment Service takes place at Christ Church URC. The service is led by the minister and Company Chaplain, Rev David Atkinson. In addition to the Enrolment, the service also includes Holy Communion. During the service, Jamie Newport is presented with a Jack Petchey Award for Outstanding Achievement, and Sam Rowsell is presented with his President's Badge, the second highest Award in The Boys' Brigade.

Sunday 8th November
Members of all Companies in Enfield Battalion join with other organisations for the Remembrance Sunday Parade. After meeting at Christ Church URC, the contingent parades to the Royal British Legion to meet up with the other organisations, and from there to the War Memorial on Chase Side for the Remembrance Service. After that there is a parade through Enfield Town and back to Christ Church. 10 members of the 3rd Enfield take part, out of a total of 87 members of Enfield Battalion on parade.

Saturday 14th November
The London Massed Bugle Band takes part in the annual Lord Mayor's Show, representing YOU London.

Monday 7th December
The Anchor Boys and Junior Section prepare for Christmas by making Christingles and learning about what they mean. After the Christingles had been made, the candles are lit

Monday 7th December
The Company Section has a visit from North London Brass ahead of its launch in January 2010. North London Brass is a traditional brass band initially based at Christ Church URC and run by Martyn Stogden, an instructor at the 3rd Enfield. Boys in the Company Section get the chance to try out a number of instruments, including trumpets, flugelhorns and tubas.

Monday 14th December
Members of all sections in the Company hold a Christmas Party. Everyone enjoys an evening of food, drink, music and games together.

Following the November lockdown we were able to meet face-to-face once again on Monday 7th December, which was also our final meeting of 2020.
