On Monday 21st October all of our age groups got into resources linked to the ‘End Polio Now’ campaign, which were produced by the BB in partnership with Rotary.
Each school term a new set of programme resources are produced by BB Headquarters for groups to use, which often include partnerships with external organisations to raise awareness of key issues.
The ‘End Polio Now’ resources are designed to help children and young people learn about polio and the devastating impact it can have in areas where it is still endemic, and were launched ahead of World Polio Day on 24th October.
Our Anchors & Juniors got creative by making some ‘purple polio cupcakes’ – so coloured because of the dye used to colour the little fingers of children who have received the polio vaccine – while our Company & Seniors took on a ‘Polio By Numbers’ activity to explore some of the facts and figures behind the disease.
