The national Brigade Council meeting in Dundee makes an historic decision to move to a new uniform for Company and Senior Section boys.
This new uniform consists of a royal blue polo shirt and navy blue tie, with a new black belt and navy blue armbands, replacing the blazers, haversacks, brown belts and black armbands. The hats and the remainder of the uniform is left unchanged, and Companies are given until the date of Brigade Council in 2006 to make the change to the new uniform.
This would spell the beginning of the end for the 3rd Enfield’s famous red ties, as they would not go with the new blue uniform.
