North London Athletics competition

On Saturday 15th June around 90 young people from across North London took part in the Athletics competition at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.

The event was open to members of all age groups, with separate competitions for each. The Anchors could take part in track events including 60 metre sprint, egg and spoon race, shuttle run and a relay and field events including a standing jump, bean bag shot and turbo jav. For Juniors there were a choice of different length sprint races, shuttle run, a relay, cricket ball throwing, long jump, discus and javelin. Company Section and Seniors were able to take part in track events from 100 metres up to 800 metres, a relay and field events including long jump, high jump, javelin, discus and shot put.

The 3rd Enfield had teams in each of the age groups. We won the Anchors competition, came sixth in Juniors (won by 1st Barnet) and fifth in Company Section and Seniors (won by 133rd London). Congratulations to our Anchors on winning their competition - the first time ever for the 3rd Enfield!

Well done to all of our boys who took part, including those who won events - Nathan (reception/year 1 egg and spoon race), William (year 2 60 metres and standing jump), Jonathan (year 3 60 metres, turbo jav and bean bag shot), Stephen (year 8/9 javelin), Ian (year 10-13 discus) and the Anchors 4 x 60 metre relay team.
